Isla Cébaco is home to unique bird species — including the “three-wattled bellbird” — and diverse wildlife. Its north coast, which faces Montijo Bay, receives a nutrient-rich flow from more than 300 rivers coming from the mainland. This creates ideal conditions for marine life: sportfishing species, whales, and many other organisms thrive in these fertile waters.
However, that same nutrient flow affects water clarity and beach conditions along the north coast. Due to river sediment, water transparency is lower and beaches tend to have rocky or muddy sand, rather than the fine white sand that characterizes the island’s south coast.
The north side of Isla Cébaco is home to most of the local population, spread across six small villages:
Platanares (the largest)
Los Lagartos
Almácigo
Las Narices
El Roble
Manzanillo and El Jobo
These communities are home to approximately 1,500 residents (as of 2025), most of whom are dedicated to artisanal fishing and small-scale agriculture. Life is quiet and traditional — and the calm waters on this side are ideal for boating and safe transportation, despite the lower visibility.
In contrast, Cébaco’s south coast is a tropical dream: white-sand beaches, crystal-clear water, and abundant marine life. This stretch of coastline is privately owned, largely belonging to a Panamanian investment fund, and we are proud to offer a limited number of titled, ready-for-sale properties in this area.
These opportunities are perfect for long-term investors, eco-resort projects, or simply for those who dream of owning a corner of paradise in one of Panama’s most biodiverse marine zones.
Cébaco is home to some of the most spectacular beaches in the province of Veraguas:
Playa Grande – A white-sand beach with consistent surf and light-blue water, ideal for surfing
Caleta – On the western tip, facing Isla Tintorera, a small 12-hectare island ideal for snorkeling, spearfishing, and swimming in calm waters
Isla Sombrero – Located offshore, famous for world-class sportfishing
These spots offer a perfect mix of adventure and tranquility, ideal for nature lovers, anglers, and surfers.
Isla Cébaco is accessible only by boat, typically from Torio, Palo Seco, Mariato, or Santa Catalina. We currently offer:
Titled beachfront lots
Investment-ready opportunities on the south coast
Customized tours for qualified buyers and developers
Cébaco represents a unique opportunity to invest in protected, low-density island land, with strong potential for eco-conscious development, conservation-focused ownership, or land banking as a long-term asset.
